Arkansas Summer Spectacular-- August 21-23 〰️
Welcome to our Arkansas Pinto Horse Association we are the state Charter of the PINTO. We are excited to see the growth of Horse shows in Arkansas.
History of Arkansas Pinto Horse Association
Discussions began in the fall of 2022 to get an Arkansas charter of the Pinto was formed for Arkansas horse enthusiasts. Early conversations with the Arkansas Appaloosa group had really not born action other than them offering some classes at their shows. No one was really willing to step out and put the work into making it formal. After a few months of discussions between Kelley and Carla, a meeting was scheduled in February 2023 at Boondocks Restaurant in Ft Smith, Arkansas. A Zoom connection was also used to include as many interest people as possible. Those present at Boondocks were Kelley Reames, Darrell Bilke - Executive Director of Pinto, Carla Vaught, Shirley Williams, Debby Brown, Karen Kennedy, Casey West, Billy Burchfield, and Katlynn Fraser. Present via Zoom were: Steven Blackwell, Colt Boyd, and Emma Rich.
The group agreed to proceed with formation. Seven participants agreed to serve as charter board members: Kelley, Carla, Karen, Billy, Colt, Steven, and Emma. Carla worked with the Sec of State office to get articles of incorporation updated from an old charter that was on the books with the state. A membership drive to get 25 paid members registered was kicked off at the meeting.
Kelley worked with Pinto to complete the charter information and the current Arkansas Pinto was born in May of 2023. Charter officers were Kelley Reames - President; Carla Vaught - Vice President; Emma Rich - Secretary; and Steven Blackwood - Treasurer.
The first show was held in October of 2025 at the WA Arena at Sheridan, Arkansas.
